Rizen

The alarm you can't snooze

Most alarms lose. You swipe them away half-asleep, roll over, and when you finally surface you reach straight for the phone and lose the first hour to a feed. Rizen is built to break both habits: the alarm rings like the system clock, but stopping it from the lock screen just re-arms it, and it pre-schedules backup alarms so force-quitting the app doesn't save you either. The only real off-switch is getting up, opening Rizen, and solving a set of math problems or pointing the camera at a toilet. The instant you finish, Rizen shields the apps you picked for the first 15 to 120 minutes of your day, then unlocks them on its own. No account, everything stored on your device, and the alarm itself is free.

Features · 006

Everything it does, nothing it doesn't.

Small on purpose. Each feature earned its place by solving something real.

01

An alarm you can't outsmart

It rings through silent mode and Focus like the system clock. Stop it from the lock screen and it re-arms itself, so the half-asleep swipe buys you nothing.

02

Get up to turn it off

The only thing that ends the alarm is finishing a wake mission in the app: a set of math problems at the difficulty you chose, or showing your camera a toilet. Wrong answers reroll the problem, so you can't brute-force one question.

03

Force-quitting doesn't work

The moment the mission opens, Rizen hands a chain of backup alarms to the system. Kill the app and they still fire, because iOS is holding them, not Rizen.

04

Morning app blocking (Pro)

You got out of bed - now don't get back in, digitally. Finish the mission and Instagram, TikTok, X, or whatever else pulls you in locks for 15 to 120 minutes, then unlocks on its own. It runs on Apple's Screen Time, so Rizen only ever sees anonymous app tokens, never your usage.

05

Wake-up streaks and patterns

Every morning you get up is logged. Rizen shows your consecutive-day streak, your best streak, your average wake time, how consistent your week was, and a 30-day grid of the mornings you showed up.

06

Wake to whatever you want (Pro)

Custom alarm sounds, plus an in-app trimmer for clips longer than the 30 seconds an alarm can ring, so you pick the exact section that gets you moving.

No escape hatch

The snooze button doesn't exist, and neither does force-quitting.

Stopping the alarm from the lock screen re-arms it. Killing the app doesn't help either, because Rizen pre-schedules backup alarms with iOS before you ever get the chance. The only way out is standing up, opening the app, and proving you're awake.

Prove you're up

The alarm stops when you're standing in the bathroom, not when you say so.

Set an alarm to the photo mission and the only way to end it is pointing your camera at a toilet. Recognition runs on your device with Apple's Vision framework, so no photo is saved and nothing leaves your phone. If you're somewhere you can't, a math fallback is right there on the screen, so you're never actually trapped.

Questions

The things people ask.

The alarm is, completely. Unlimited anti-snooze alarms, the wake missions, the backup-alarm chain, the return cadence, and all the streak tracking cost nothing and always will. Rizen Pro adds morning app blocking and custom alarm sounds.

$9.99 a month or $39.99 a year, each starting with a 7-day free trial if you haven't already used one. It is a normal App Store subscription you manage in your Apple account, and there is a Restore Purchases button in Settings.

It uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, the same system parental controls run on. You pick the apps in Apple's own picker, and Rizen only ever receives anonymous tokens for them. Rizen never sees which apps you actually use or for how long, and it cannot read anything inside them.

There is no account and no sign-up. Your alarms, wake logs, name, and app selection are stored on your iPhone in a private container. Nothing you create is uploaded to any server run by Flowstate Industries, and Rizen does not sync to iCloud, so a new phone starts fresh.

Everything free keeps working exactly as it did: your alarms still ring, the missions still run, and your streak history stays intact. Morning app blocking stops starting, and any alarm set to a custom sound falls back to the default until you resubscribe. No data is deleted, so resubscribing or restoring brings it all back.

That is the design: it returns until you complete the wake mission. If you want it to come back less aggressively, Settings has an Alarm return setting with Gentle, Standard, and Relentless. Turning off the anti-snooze toggle on an individual alarm makes it a normal alarm again.

An iPhone on iOS 26 or later, because the alarms are built on Apple's AlarmKit and the blocking on Screen Time. Rizen is iPhone only and portrait only. Alarms need the Alarms permission granted; if it is denied or revoked, or the device is powered off, they will not ring, so do not rely on Rizen as your only alarm for something safety-critical.

Rizen is on the App Store.

An anti-snooze alarm that rings through silent mode and Focus and keeps coming back until you get up and finish a wake mission. The moment you do, it locks your most addictive apps so you don't trade the snooze button for a doomscroll.
